This game has changed like anything. 12 needed from 6 became 8 needed from two with Amanjot on strike. A single off the fifty ball would mean that this match can only get tied and head into a Super Over until and unless Sobhana bowls an extra. Otherwise, even a six would only mean a tie here. 

 

Huge discussion between Ghosh, umpires and everyone else and Sobahana held her nerves to bowl a leg break which could only fetch a single. The defending champions of the inaugural season have been knocked out here by RCB from a situation where they had to defend 20 of 18 with Mumbai having seven wickets in hand. 

 

The final will now be played between Delhi Capitals and RCB and we will have a new WPL champion on Sunday, March 17.

A leg spinner to bowl the last over with 12 needed. This might backfire for Smriti and RCB. But for now, it is two off the first two balls. With three overs of Renuka Thakur and two overs of Sophie Devine remaining, it is very brave of Smriti to go for Sobahana. 

 

It is turning out to be a great decision so fast as he has gone for just four runs off the first four balls and taken the big wicket of Vastrakar. It will be a new batter on strike for the fifth ball with 8 needed from two to win.

It's Sajana Sajeevan, the hero of the first match for Mumbai on strike. She plays her first ball dot and hits the second straight down the ground for a single. Well-fielded by Smriti, but that wouldn’t stop the single. 

 

Do we have a wicket here? Seems like it, as Richa Ghoshas has broken the stumps behind Sajan as she stepped out to play the ball which had kept low. Sajana could not connect and was found well short of the crease. All of a sudden, RCB are back in the game.

But Devine makes no mistake at all at long-on and Shreyanks eventually has a wicket after going for just four runs. The match gets interesting now.

A miscalculation or a trick on the part of Harmanpreet Kaur we don’t know, but she has certainly succeeded as after hitting a fourth first ball, Ellyse Perry has perished on the second and that might be the difference of at least 10-15 runs to what RCB could have achieved as a dot ball follows. 

 

Sajana Sajveena has dropped Shreyanka Paril and Georgia Wareham finishes with a six.  13 from the over would take Bangalore to 135. However, they are at least 15-20 runs short of where they should have been. Nonetheless, it is defendable and RCB would have to do everything they can to try and defend it.
