Andhra Pradesh/ Uttar Pradesh/ Bihar, May 7 (ANI): The eighth phase of Lok Sabha elections started on Wednesday. Polling for 64 constituencies spread across seven states began at 7 a.m. and will continue till 6 p.m. except in sensitive pockets of Bihar, where it will end at 4 p.m. The states which are going to polls are Andhra Pradesh (25), Bihar (7), Himachal Pradesh (4), Jammu and Kashmir (2), Uttar Pradesh (15), Uttarakhand (5) and West Bengal (6). The major battle is in UP's Amethi where Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, AAP candidate Kumar Vishwas and BJP candidate Smriti Irani are contesting against each other. Apart from Rahul, BJP leader Varun Gandhi, who is contesting from Sultanpuri, LJP President Ramvilas Paswan, who is contesting from Hajipur, Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad's wife Rabri Devi, who is seeking to make her debut in the Lok Sabha from Saran, are other important leaders in the fray.
