Temporary staffing demand this festive season is expected to generate 2.5-2.7 lakh jobs, led by e-commerce, logistics, quick commerce, organised retail and BFSI sectors, a report said on Monday. The electric vehicle (EV) sector is expected to create 30-40 million jobs by 2030, with hiring projected to grow 15-20 per cent annually, driven by rising demand for specialised talent in engineering, energy systems and battery technologies, a report said on Wednesday. As EV adoption accelerates across passenger vehicles, commercial fleets, two-wheelers and public mobility, India's EV industry is entering its most employment-intensive phase, evolving from a vehicle manufacturing opportunity into a fully integrated industrial ecosystem, according to the report by talent company Adecco India. The EV sector is projected to generate 30-40 million jobs, with 10-15 per cent direct and 85-90 per cent indirect jobs by 2030, the report stated. The report is based on insights from over 100 companies in Adecco India's base. Corporate India is expected to scale back hiring plans in the July-September quarter of this year, signaling a slowdown in hiring momentum, as employers are likely to opt for a more measured approach to hiring amid rising geopolitical challenges, a survey said on Tuesday. According to ManpowerGroup's latest Employment Outlook Survey, the Net Employment Outlook (NEO) for Q3 2026 stood at 48 per cent, down 20 points from the previous quarter but stronger by 6 points since Q3 2025. The Net Employment Outlook (NEO) is derived by taking the percentage of employers anticipating an increase in hiring activity and subtracting from this the percentage of employers expecting a decrease in hiring activity. The Centre on Saturday published draft rules under the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act, 2025 (VBG RAM G) for public consultation, following the notification of the law's implementation across all states and Union Territories from July 1. Framed under Section 33 and other relevant provisions of the Act, the draft rules have been placed in the public domain to facilitate wider stakeholder consultation before they are finalised. The proposed rules cover transitional provisions, the National Level Steering Committee, the Central Gramin Rozgar Guarantee Council, administrative expenses, grievance redressal, payment of wages and unemployment allowance, and expenditure incurred in excess of normative allocations, including expenses for Union Territories without legislatures. India's clean energy technology industry has emerged as one of the fastest-growing talent markets, with recruitment surging 56.6 per cent in two years, driven by strong policy push and rising investments towards green energy transition, a report said. India's white-collar job market recorded a 12 per cent year-on-year growth in February, amid increasing AI adoptions and a recovery in the IT sector, a report said on Tuesday. White-collar job market posted its strongest February performance in recent years, with the Naukri JobSpeak Index reaching 3,233 points - up 12 per cent from 2,890 points in February 2025. The month-on-month acceleration from January to February came in at 23 per cent, noticeably sharper than the 13-16 per cent range typically seen between the two months, the report based on Naukri JobSpeak Index added. The IT sector posted over 6 per cent year-on-year growth in hiring in February 2026. Freshers' hiring in the sector also grew by a healthy 8 per cent. India's Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) sector is expected to create more than 25 million jobs by 2030, supported by expanding infrastructure development, says a report. According to HR solutions provider CIEL HR's 'EPC Sector Talent Study, 2025', the EPC sector is one of the country's most powerful job creators and witnessed a 51 per cent surge in hiring demand since 2020. Over 85 million people, across the organised and unorganised sectors, are employed in the country's EPC sector, and within this, around 7-8 million professionals make up the EPC workforce employed by top firms. "As infrastructure development across the country expands, the rise in hiring will continue, with the EPC sector expected to generate more than 25 million jobs by 2030.
