Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Saturday unveiled the Viksit Madhya Pradesh@2047' vision document, which he called a roadmap to make MP developed and self-reliant, on the occasion of the state's 70th foundation day. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said the subsidy given to farmers for installing solar-powered pumps will be raised to 90 per cent from the present 40 per cent. Addressing a farmers' thanksgiving event linked to the 'Bhavantar' scheme for soybean growers on Saturday, Yadav urged cultivators to adopt solar energy to free themselves from the costs of temporary power connections. Due to the toils put in by the farmers, the agriculture sector's contribution to the state's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was more than 39 per cent, he said. "Our farmer brothers are the backbone of Madhya Pradesh's economy. Every government decision is taken with their welfare in mind," Yadav said. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Friday said the monthly financial aid under the Ladli Behna Yojana will be hiked from the current Rs 1250 to Rs 1500 after Diwali. He was addressing a function at Petlawad in tribal dominated Jhabua district during which he transferred more than Rs 1,541 crore into the bank accounts of 1.26 crore women beneficiaries of the scheme. "Beneficiaries will receive Rs 1,500 per month after Diwali under the scheme. Assistance will be raised to Rs 3,000 by 2028," Yadav said. Attacking the Congress, Yadav said leaders of the opposition party "feel pain in their stomachs when we give respect to our sisters". This amount is over and above the Rs 1250 beneficiaries of the state's flagship scheme get every month, he added while addressing a Raksha Bandhan celebration organised by women working at 'Best Lifestyle' company here. Nearly 1.27 crore women in Madhya Pradesh who are beneficiaries of the Ladli Behna scheme will receive Rs 250 as a Rakhi gift, and their monthly assistance will be hiked to Rs 1,500 from October, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said. Currently, eligible women receive Rs 1,250 per month under the scheme. The Madhya Pradesh government on Saturday suspended seven engineers including two chief engineers of the Public Works Department for the faulty design of the new Rail Over Bridge in Aishbagh area of the city with an unusual 90-degree turn. "I took cognizance of the serious negligence in the construction of Aishbagh ROB and ordered an inquiry. On the basis of the inquiry report, action has been taken against eight PWD engineers," Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on X late in the evening. Seven engineers including two chief engineers were suspended with immediate effect while a departmental inquiry will be conducted against a retired senior engineer, he added. The construction agency and design consultant have been blacklisted, and a committee has been formed to make necessary improvements in the ROB, the chief minister said.
