CRPF officer killed during anti-Naxal operation in Odisha's Sundergarh

A CRPF official was killed in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast during an anti-Naxal operation in Odisha's Sundergarh district on Saturday, officials said. ASI Satyaban Kumar Singh (34) of 134th CRPF battalion sustained injuries on his left leg in the blast, they said. He was evacuated to a hospital in Rourkela, where he succumbed to his injuries, the officials said. The Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) hailed from Kushinagar district of Uttar Pradesh. The blast took place around 6 am near the K Balang village of Rourkela when a joint team of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and special operations group (SOG) of Odisha Police was carrying out a combing operation in the area.

22 Naxalites, including six with Rs 11 lakh bounty, surrender in Bijapur

Twenty-two Naxalites, including six carrying a cumulative bounty of Rs 11 lakh, surrendered in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district on Sunday, a police official said. Of these, Ayatu Punem, Pandu Kunjam, Kosi Tamo, Sona Kunjam and Lingesh Padam carried rewards of Rs 2 lakh each of their heads, while the amount was Rs 1 lakh for Tibruram Madvi, he said. "Punem was active as Platoon Number 1 member under the Andhra-Odisha-Border (AOB) division of the outlawed Maoists outfit. Pandu and Tamo were Platoon Number 9 and 10 party members, respectively. Sona was a Platoon party member under the Telangana State Committee of the Naxal organization," he said. No Indian citizen will lose life after end of Naxalism by March 2026: Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Sunday that Naxals will be eradicated by March 31, 2026 and no citizen of the country has to lose his life due to it. Shah said this after the security forces killed 31 Naxals in Chhattisgarh. "I also reiterate my resolve that before 31 March, 2026, we will completely eradicate Naxalism from the country so that no citizen of the country has to lose his life due to it," he wrote on 'X' in Hindi. Five Naxalites, including two women, were killed in an encounter with security personnel in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district on Sunday, police said. The gunfight broke out in the morning in the forest of Bandepara-Koranjed villages under Madded police station limits when a joint team of security personnel was out on an anti-Naxalite operation, Inspector General of Police, Bastar Range, Sundarraj P said. The operation involving personnel of District Reserve Guard (DRG), Special Task Force (STF) and District Force started on Saturday based on inputs about movement of Naxalites in the area which falls under Indravati National Park, he said. Naxalites kill two former village heads in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur

Naxalites have killed two former heads village panchayats in separate incidents in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district, police said on Thursday. Naxalites in their pamphlets claimed former sarpanch Suklu Parsa was a BJP worker and accused the other deceased, Sukhram Avlam, of helping cops in setting up a police camp. Eight Naxalites and one security personnel were killed in an encounter in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday, police said. Two other security personnel sustained injuries in the incident, they said. The gunfight broke out this morning in the forest of Abhujmad when a joint team of the security personnel from four districts - Narayanpur, Kanker, Dantewada and Kondagaon - was out on an anti-Naxal operation, a senior police official in Raipur said. Naxalites torch 14 vehicles, construction machines in Chhattisgarh

Suspected Naxalites set afire at least 14 vehicles and machines engaged in construction works in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district on Monday, police said.
