SIS Ltd, a security and facility management services provider, aims to cross Rs 20,000 crore in revenue by FY27, driven by strong double-digit growth, expansion of its service network, and a simplified regulatory framework under new labour codes, said its Group Managing Director Rituraj Sinha. A technical glitch, apparently caused by strong wind, led to a boom barrier falling down at an entry gate of the Parliament which activated the security alarm and a quick reaction team (QRT) being mobilised on Monday. Senior officials of the Central Industrial Security Force, which is responsible for the protection of the Parliament House complex, rushed to the spot and assessed the situation and was found that there was no security threat, sources said. Normal vehicle movement through the gate, near the Vijay Chowk, was resumed after sometime. Sources said the boom barrier, which prevents a direct entry of the vehicles unless lifted, came down automatically, apparently due to a technical glitch caused by a strong wind. However, a detail investigation was underway whether the boom barrier came down due to strong wind or its inability to read the entry sticker of a car which was entering the complex at that particular time, sources said. CRPF chief G P Singh on Saturday reviewed the security scenario and operational preparedness of the paramilitary force in Kashmir, and emphasised robust security, sustenance of normalcy and total elimination of militancy in the region. Singh, the Director General of CRPF, arrived here on a two-day visit to the valley, CRPF officials said. On his arrival, Singh chaired a high-level security review meeting with the valley-based senior officials and ground commanders of CRPF, and emphasised a three-pronged focus -- robust security, the sustenance of normalcy, and total elimination of militancy in the region, the officials said. They said the DG CRPF also reviewed the operational preparedness of the force and interacted with the jawans. The Delhi Police has put in place elaborate multi-layered security arrangements for the Republic Day celebrations, deploying around 10,000 police personnel in the New Delhi area and rolling out advanced surveillance tools, including AI-enabled smart glasses and thousands of CCTV cameras, officials said on Sunday. "Stringent security protocols have been enforced to ensure the safety of participants and spectators during the national event," Additional Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Devesh Kumar Mahala said. "For the safety and security, approximately 10,000 police personnel have been deployed. Pickets, barricades and other standard operating procedures are in place.
