SC overturns AMU judgement, CJI's last day in office, BS BFSI Summit, and more

The Supreme Court overruled its 1967 judgement about the Aligarh Muslim University that became the basis for denying the minority status to the institute. The court said that a new bench will decide on the minority status of the institute. Today marked Supreme Court Chief Justice DY Chandrachud's last working day in office. A ceremonial bench was held in the top court to honour his tenure. Speaking at the Business Standard BFSI Summit today, India’s Chief Economic Advisor V Anantha Nageswaran said developing countries like India need not be overly concerned about oncoming global trade tensions, following recent election results in the US and other economies.
