Daily use of multimodal artificial intelligence (AI) in India is expected to nearly double to 43 per cent by 2030 from 22 per cent at present, according to a new Ericsson ConsumerLab report based on a survey.
Notably, the projected level for India is higher than the global estimate of 30 per cent, up from 10 per cent now, the report said.
Multimodal AI use covers text, voice, images and video.
The findings point to a shift from occasional AI interactions to more frequent use across devices and locations, creating new demands on mobile networks, it said.
As consumers use AI on the move and share more images, video and voice with AI services, network traffic is expected to become more upload-heavy and unevenly distributed, increasing the importance of network responsiveness and uplink capacity.
"AI is becoming an integral part of how consumers search, create and communicate today. As AI becomes more multimodal and mobile, consumers will expect these experiences to work reliably acro

As tech companies race to build the most powerful artificial intelligence, some are also asking how to teach a chatbot right from wrong. Their answer, Religion.
"These are not questions a lab can answer," Anthropic co-founder Chris Olah said earlier this year at the Vatican's presentation of Pope Leo XIV's encyclical on AI. "They are questions traditions like yours have carried for millennia."
Amid this much-discussed turn to faith, there has been little public scrutiny surrounding what exactly these technology companies think religion is - and, perhaps more important, what they hope to get out of it.
As executives sound the alarm about AI's destructive potential and debate the need to develop morally good models, they are increasingly seeking input from philosophers and faith leaders. The executives' philosophy goes something like this: that religion can help inform AI to be morally good in an environment where fears about it - founded and unfounded - are hopscotching across the ..

With the two leading AI powers, the United States and China, forming their own AI blocs, other countries are maneuvering to harness the strengths of both groupings and avoid losing out.
As the rivalry intensifies, experts say the window for countries to be able to choose freely between the two AI superpowers may be narrowing, forcing them to at one point pick between the US-led Pax Silica and the China-inspired World AI Cooperation Organisation.
That could put many countries in a dilemma: Do they go with the US' most advanced chips and AI technologies, or join China's more affordable, open-source AI systems?
Kazakhstan, a Central Asia nation of about 21 million people, is a rare example of a country that has sought to bridge that gap.
Just three weeks after its AI minister Zhaslan Madiyev visited Washington in June to join the US group working to strengthen AI supply chains, he headed to Shanghai for a signing ceremony making the Central Asian country a founding member of China's .
