Public sector steel major SAIL on Monday posted a 43 per cent decline in net profit for the quarter ended December on the back of increased raw material prices and rupee depreciation. The Maharatna public sector undertaking registered a net profit of Rs 632 crore for the three months period as compared to Rs 1,107 crore during the same period last year.

Anil Ambani group company Reliance Power on Monday reported 42 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 204 crore for the quarter ended December 31. It had reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 144 crore in the year ago period.

The Kolkata-based Maharatna company&rsquo;s net sales saw a 21 per cent rise to Rs 15,349 crore, as compared to Rs 12,687 crore last year.

Construction firm Housing Development and Infrastructure Ltd (HDIL) today posetd a 32% drop in net profit for the thrid quarter ended December, 2011 at Rs 156 crore, according to a release filed with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

Tree House Education and Accessories Limited, the educational services provider in India posted a net profit stood of Rs 6.1 crore for quarter ended 31 December 2011, up by 16.13% from the quarter ended September 2011. The net profit for the previous quarter was Rs 5.27 crore.

Net sales grew 1.07 per cent to Rs 46.11 crore, as against Rs 45.62 crore. Expenditure increased 5.81 per cent to Rs 40.62 crore from Rs 38.39 crore .
