Manali Petrochemicals Ltd (MPL), one of the leading producers of propylene oxide, propylene glycols and polyols in India, has acquired Notedome Limited, the UK-based system house, for Pound 13.50 million (about Rs 115 crore) to further expand its overseas business of polyurethane (PU) products. MPL acquired Notedome Limited through its Singapore based subsidiary Amchem Speciality Chemicals Private Limited, which it had established to acquire system house overseas.

While polyurethane is made using chemicals such as polyols and isocyanides (methyl di-p-phenylene isocyanate or MDI and toluene di-isocyanate or TDI), system houses are blending units that tailor the PU formulation according to customer’s needs.

Established in 1979, Notedome is a system house with more than 30 years of experience and manufactures Neuthane polyurethane cast elastomers catering to customers across 45 countries. Neuthane polyurethanes are used in diverse range of industries and applications. In the automotive sector, they are used for anti-roll bar, suspension and shock bushes for buses, trucks and other high performance vehicles, limit or bump stops, material handling etc. Similarly, in the agriculture sector these materials find applications in rollers, harvester components and idler wheels on track laying tractors.
