CAA protests: Clashes broke out between police, demonstrators in Delhi's Jafrabad

New Delhi, Dec 17 (ANI): Clashes broke out between police and protesters in Jafrabad area of the national capital on December 17 during demonstration over new citizenship law. Traffic movement was closed on 66 feet road from Seelampur to Jafrabad as stone pelting was reported from the protest site. In view of the clash, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced that entry and exit gates of Welcome, Jafrabad and Maujpur-Babarpur, Seelampur and Gokulpuri are closed. Trains won't be halting at these stations. Protests emerged at multiple locations across the country after Citizenship Amendment Bill was passed by Parliament and got President's assent. Students of Jamia Millia Islamia, Aligarh Muslim University and other institutions got into violent clashes with police during protest at their campuses.
