Manmohan Singh to formally resign tomorrow, congratulates Modi

New Delhi, May 16 (ANI): Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh is set to meet President Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday to submit his resignation. With the nation electing a BJP government in 2014 polls, Singh will pave way for Narendra Modi to take over the post by stepping down tomorrow. As per reports, Singh will resign as the prime minister of India at 12.30 pm on Saturday after serving the nation for 10 consecutive years. Prior to polls, Singh had made it clear that he will not be in the running for a third term as PM if the UPA comes back to power. Singh on Friday had called Modi and congratulated him on his party's victory in the Lok Sabha elections.
