WB Governor appeals anti-CAA protestors in West Bengal to respect the law

Kolkata, Dec 17 (ANI): Speaking on the recent protests against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Governor of West Bengal Jagdeep Dhankhar appealed people of West Bengal to respect the law. He said, "Let us give up all the negativities altogether. All of us are working in one direction. Right now, state of West Bengal needs peace, needs a healing touch. We do not want a situation that can get us into chaos and I can tell you very firmly that Citizenship Amendment Act is not against any citizen of this country. It does not touch any citizen of this country in any manner whatsoever. Citizenship Amendment Act is a law passed by Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha after due deliberation and voting. According to Constitution, the Act has received the assent of the President. I would appeal to all of you and every person in the state of West Bengal that any law of the land has to be respected. If anyone has grievances, there are ways. I am not saying that people have no right to protest. Peaceful protes
