'Presence of God today is also called Rohingya': Pope Francis

Dhaka (Bangladesh), Dec 02 (ANI): Pope Francis used the word 'Rohingya' in public for the first time during his Asia trip on Friday. He used the word to refer to refugees who have fled from violence in Myanmar.

He did not use the word on the first leg of his trip, in Myanmar. The term "Rohingya" is disputed by the Yangon government and military.

"The presence of God today is also called Rohingya," he said. Pope met 16 refugees who ave been brought to Dhaka from their camps in Cox's Bazar.

The pope listened to their stories through interpreters at the end of the gathering.
