Sandhya Devanathan

Sandhya Devanathan is the newly appointed Vice President of Facebook&#39;s parent company Meta India. She will begin her tenure on January 1. 
 
Devanathan has been a part of Meta since 2016 and is working as the company&#39;s Vice President for Gaming in the Asia-Pacific region.&nbsp; Currently living in Singapore (according to her LinkedIn profile), she will be relocating to India for the position.

Early life and education 
 
&bull; An Indian by origin, Devanathan completed her B.Tech in Chemical engineering from Andhra Pradesh University in 1998. 
&bull; She then pursued MBA from Delhi University&#39;s Faculty of Management Studies till 2000. 
&bull; Sandhya Devanathan also pursued a course in leadership from Sa&iuml;d Business School of the University of Oxford in 2014. 
&bull; Devanathan holds 22 years of experience as a global business leader with an international career in banking, payments, and technology. 
&bull; According to her LinkedIn page, she holds proficiency in English, Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi languages. 
&bull; Sandhya Devanathan is married to businessman Amit Ray. 
 
Career 
 
Sandhya Devanathan began her career as a &quot;Webmaster and Product Manager&quot; with Citibank in 2000. She was associated with the company for over nine years and left as the Director of Sales Performance Management, at the International Retail Bank of Citibank in 2009. 
 
She then joined Standard Chartered Bank in 2009 as the Global Head -Cross-Sell and Pricing, Consumer Bank. Devanathan worked with the organization for more than six years and left Standard Chartered Bank as the Managing Director of Retail Banking and Payment Products in 2015. 
 
From 2013 to 2015, Sandhya Devanathan also served as the Council Member of the Singpost APAC Ecommerce Advisory Board. 
 
She joined Meta (Facebook at that time) in 2016 and helped the company build its Singapore and Vietnam businesses and teams along with its e-commerce initiatives in Southeast Asia. 
 
As a Vice President of Meta India, Devanathan would be reporting to Dan Neary, the Vice President of Meta Asia-Pacific. 
 
Along with her role in Meta, she was a part of the Advisory Board of the AsiaWomen&#39;s Forum for the Economy and Society. 
 
She was also a part of the Steering Committee of the Digital Readiness Council Singapore Ministry of Communications and Information for over two years. 
 
At present, Devanathan is a member of the Board Of Advisors at the College of Integrative Studies, Singapore Management University. She is also a board member of the National Library Board of Singapore. 
 
Devanathan is also serving as a member of the Board of Directors, and of Member - Remuneration Committee at Pepper Financial Services Group. 
 
A strong advocate of women in leadership, Devanathan promotes diversity in the workplace. She is the Executive Sponsor for Women@APAC at Meta, and the global lead for Play Forward, a global Meta initiative to improve the representation of diversity in the gaming industry.
