Universal Starch Chem Allied Ltd, a manufacturer of maize starch products and dextroses, will temporarily shut down its plant at Dondaicha, Dhule (Maharashtra) from August 22, 2015 to September 22, 2015 for carrying out maintenance. “Once in every 10 years it is mandatory for the industry to undertake a naked boiler inspection by a boiler inspector and therefore the boiler will be non-operative. Taking in to account the safety and security of its workers and employees, the management has decided to shut down the factory from August 22, 2015 to September 12, 2015. Accordingly the production and sales will be affected for the quarter ended September 30, 2015,” said Universal Starch Chem in a BSE filing on August 22, 2015.

Established in 1973, Universal Starch-Chem Allied supplies raw materials to food, pharmaceutical, textile, paper and adhesive industries.
