Piaggio opens second Motoplex

Buoyed by the positive response at its first Motoplex in Pune - the one stop store for the Group’s brand portfolio including Vespa, Aprilia and Moto Guzzi -  Piaggio has opened its second Motoplex premium retail concept store in Hyderabad.

Set up by Shrey Automotive, the Hyderabad store is Piaggio’s first dealer-operated concept store in the country. With this, Hyderabad becomes the first south Indian city to get a Motoplex store.

The new Motoplex is set up in a sprawling area of 4,134 sq. ft. at Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. The Piaggio Group is developing this concept in major metropolitan areas around the world. Motoplex multi brand stores have already been set up in Milan, New York City, Shanghai and Beijing where, all the Piaggio Group brands coexist in one continuous experience. It is a platform for bike enthusiasts to explore all the Piaggio brands and share their biking experience in one place.

“With the display of various brands from the Piaggio Group stable, the Motoplex store aims to achieve the same success it has had internationally. Hyderabad as a two-wheeler market has always been of strategic importance to us and it was a logical move to bring this concept store first to the city of Nizams before venturing into other cities where similar launches are being planned,” said Stefano Pelle, managing director and CEO of the Piaggio Vehicles Private Ltd.

Bookings open for Moto Guzzi V9 Roamer and Bobber
 
Meanwhile, Piaggio is now accepting bookings for the Moto Guzzi Roamer and Bobber at its Pune Motoplex.

While the Roamer costs Rs. 13.3 lakh, the Bobber comes at a cost of Rs. 13.4 lakh (both ex-showroom). However, delivery times are unknown.

The Bobber and the Roamer use a new 850cc v-twin motor that makes 62Nm of peak torque. Both motorcycles are aimed at the custom motorcycle enthusiasts and come with a long list of accessories that one can customize. The motorcycle sports all the latest tech including traction control and dual-channel ABS.

It also has a “grip warning” that uses data from the various sensors on the bike and warns riders when they’re reaching the limits of traction.

Both motorcycles look similar in design with the only difference being that the Roamer is a basic cruiser, while the Bobber sports a custom look with its matte paint and fatter tyres. The Roamer also runs on a 19-inch/16-inch front/rear tyre combination, while the Bobber uses a thicker 16-inch tyre at the front. The Bobber also gets straight handlebars and a more aggressive riding position.
