Essar Group's BPO arm Aegis today said that it plans to hire nearly 11,000 persons this fiscal, and would set up an institute for customer relationship management in association with IIM-Indore and two others.
"We plan to hire nearly 11,000 people this financial year for our various divisions. Half of this will be from India and the rest from foreign countries," Aegis Managing Director and global CEO Aparup Sengupta told reporters here today.
These recruitments will enable the outsourcing major to fill vacancies across various verticals such as BFSI, telecom and healthcare, he said.
The company is also looking at strategic investments in Latin America and Australia, Sengupta said, without elaborating on the firm's expansion plans.
Aegis today forayed into the education sector by launching the Institute of Customer Experience Management (ICEM) in collaboration with IIM-Indore. "The institute will help fill the gap faced by the services industry in finding the right talent," Sengupta said.
The institute, which has been set up in Coimbatore, will start classes for its first batch from August 2010, Sengupta said.
The firm also plans to set up similar institutes in other parts of the country, he said, adding that Aegis Global Academy President Subir Ghosh will head the institute.
Spread across 40,000 square feet, ICEM will admit 400 students into the 15-month post graduate residential programme, which has been specially designed by IIM-Indore, SQ Centre and the Customer Operations Performance Centre in active consultations with the industry, he said.
