A couple of days after Infosys changed its dress code which allowed its employees to wear smart business casuals on working days, Allen Solly, the apparel retail brand owned by Madura Garments has now come up with an offer, exclusively for the Bangalore-based IT services company's employees.

Allen Solly, which is said to have pioneered 'Friday Dressing' concept in India, has announced to give 25 per cent discount to Infosys employees for its range of smart casuals. "We believe the customer must wear casuals to work and be relaxed. The spirit is the founding spirit of Allen Solly," said Sooraj Bhat, COO, Allen Solly, told Business Standard.

Infosys today employs over 176,000 spread over multiple countries, but majorly located in the Bengaluru-based company's various global delivery centres in the country.

The revenues of Allen Solly grew about 30 per cent in FY15 over the previous fiscal to Rs 800 crore. According to Bhat, Allen Solly changed the very concept of casual, at work. It created the t-shirt as a casual work wear which is now a consumer trend. "It is now alright to be casual."

Launched in 1993, Allen Solly has 207 exclusive outlets, and the company is looking at adding 40-50 stores each year.

Meanwhile, Allen Solly is now launching Solly Sport and Solly Jeans with an attempt to tap into the sportswear and more of the casual wear market. It has tied up with Wimbledon for launching a range during the tennis grand slam's season, in India. "The launch is set to happen in June and the campaign for the range is set to break soon," said Bhat.

Also, the company is now using the e-commerce channel to sell its products. At present, around three per cent of its sales by value happen online. While its products are sold on e-commerce sites like Myntra, it's now leveraging on its own e-commerce site trendin.com.
