Apollo Tyre strike illegal, says Gujarat govt

The workers’ strike at Apollo Tyre’s Waghodia plant near Vadodara has been declared illegal by the Gujarat government, K O Shah, deputy labour commissioner, labour department, Gujarat, informed. As a fallout of which, now the company can go for fresh hiring if workers do not resume work within a stipulated time. The firm said it was incurring a production loss of up to Rs 5 crore per day due to the ongoing labour unrest.
