Bajaj Electronics Limited has targeted a business of Rs 85 crore in the Orissa market in the current financial year, a 30.76 per cent growth over Rs 65 crore which the company had clocked in 2008-09.

The consumer electronics major hopes to achieve sales of Rs 65 crore this fiscal across all its strategic business units (SBUs) and aims to scale up its business in the state to Rs 100 crore in 2010-11.

Of all the SBUs of Bajaj Electronics Limited, the home appliances unit has the highest share of the company's business in Orissa, P K Tripathy, chief manager (sales support), Bajaj Electronics Limited told Business Standard.

Bajaj Electricals Limited is growing at the rate of 35 per cent per annum in the Orissa market which is higher than the company's national growth rate of 25 per cent.

Out of the company's targeted business of Rs 85 crore, Rs 35 crore is expected to come from its home appliances segment.

“Our aggressive business strategy and the people's trust in the Bajaj brand will help us to cross the business target of the company in the state”, he said.

Besides, home appliances, the other SBUs of Bajaj Electronics are fans, lighting, luminaries, engineering and projects.

“When it comes to home appliances, no other company in the country offers as wide and modern a range as Bajaj Electricals does”, Tripathy added.

The company's home appliances portfolio include room heaters, irons, ovens, toasters and microwaves, water filters, mixture grinders, food processors and juicers.

Tripathy was here to attend the meet of the company’s distributors and dealers of the districts of south Orissa.

Strong dealership network has been one of the key drivers of the company's business growth in the state and plans are afoot to ramp up this network further.

Presently, Bajaj Electricals has 185 dealers across the state. The company has added 40 dealers in the first nine months of this fiscal and plans to add 20 more dealer outlets by the end of March this year.
