Balaji Telefilms, producer of famous daily sops like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, today announced a net loss of Rs 14.62 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009.
The company had a net profit of Rs 23.85 crore during the same quarter last year, Balaji Telefilms said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Net income dropped to Rs 49.41 crore in the quarter under review from Rs 96.51 crore in the same period previous year.
For the year ended March 31, 2009, net profit of the company declined to Rs 26.32 crore from Rs 87.38 crore in the previous year.
Net income of the company dipped to Rs 294.91 crore in the year under review from Rs 328.96 crore during the last year.
A consolidated net profit of the firm in entertainment business slumped to Rs 47.51 lakh for FY09 from Rs 95.59 crore in the last fiscal.
Consolidated net income of the company dropped to Rs 337.47 crore for the financial year under review from Rs 378.36 crore during the previous year.
Shares of the company closed at Rs 43.85, down 2.23 per cent from the previous close on the BSE.
