Speaking to Business Standard, Ravi Aggarwal, vice-president (marketing and sales) of Ozone Ayurvedics, said the initiative was aimed at getting more in touch with today's women and educating them on the positive aspects of Nomarks.
"Kerala is a market with huge potential and currently accounts for 2 per cent of our marketshare. We have appointed beauty advisers (consultants) in Kerala who have been trained in beauty care and skin grooming and are equipped with expertise in advising their customers about the various aspects of skin care."
As an initial phase, Nomarks will have 15 beauty advisers stationed at the major retail outlets and cosmetic shops in Kochi, which are frequented by women.
"Apart from helping in sales of the product, the beauty advisers would convince the women to choose Nomarks. This apart, feedback and questions on the product would be answered by them," he said.
The pilot launch of the beauty advisers concept has earlier been successfully done in Delhi and Mumbai. Kochi boasts of 10 outlets where beauty advisers would popularise the brand.
The company posted sales of Rs 76 lakh in fiscal 2005-06 and is targeting a 35 per cent increase at Rs 110.4 lakh in the state during the current fiscal. Of the 6,000-odd retail outlets in the country, Nomarks is available at as many as 72 stockists in the state.
Besides, the company has launched its 360 degrees advertising campaign themed 'Kuch Ho Sakta Hai' at a total cost of Rs 5 crore, Aggarwal said.
Mudra, which handles the Nomarks account had begun taking the campaign across the vernacular print medium in a bid to position Nomarks as a specialist in the mark removal and anti-marks cream segment.
"With competition from brands like Fair & Lovely and Fairever, we have made sure that we stay visible in the various retail cosmetics outlets across the state," Aggarwal said.
Nomarks is being advertised as a unique herbal, micronutrient, anti-oxidant and anti-bacterial cream that works in four weeks to reduce marks, scars, spots, blemishes and hyper pigmentation.
