Bharat Forge Q1 net dips 49% at Rs 40.91 cr

Auto component maker Bharat Forge today announced a consolidated profit after tax of Rs 40.91 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, a 49.14 per cent growth over the corresponding period a year ago.     

The firm had a PAT of Rs 80.43 crore in Q1 of FY08, Bharat Forge said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.     

The total income rose 22.35 per cent to Rs 1,323.82 crore in the June quarter, from Rs 1081.97 crore in the same period last fiscal.     

On the standalone basis Bharat Forge reported a 59 per cent decline in the net profit for the first quarter, to Rs 26.56 crore, as compared to the same period last year.     

The firm had a net profit of Rs 64.81 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.     

The total income rose to Rs 649.45 crore in the quarter under review, from Rs 516.88 crore in the year-ago period.     

Shares of Bharat Forge were trading at Rs 245, up 0.68 per cent in the afternoon trade on the BSE.
