Kapoor as chief operating officer will be responsible for overall business strategy and operations of R Com's DTH business, company spokesperson said.
R Com plans to launch its Direct-to-home (DTH) service under the brand name Big TV, that is expected to start its services by August end.
It is also learnt that the company has already placed an order for 5 million set-top-boxes (STBs) from Korean and Taiwanese companies.
Currently, there are three private and one public DTH service providers in the country. R Com, Bharti and Videocon are the other players eyeing the DTH market.
