The company has decided to enter into the non-auto spares market by expanding its product portfolio into packaging technology, security system, special purpose machines and tooling, Bosch's head of corporate communications in India, Sanjay Chakravarty, said.
Looking at the accelerated growth in the industrial technology and building technology, Chakravarty said the company sees strong investments in infrastructure, construction and retail and in the next five years.
"We plan to increase revenue of our non-automotive component from the present 10 per cent to 15 per cent," he said.
He said the packaging division in Goa, which opened in December last year, has an initial installed capacity of 120 machines a year and plans to increase it 240 machines in the next three years.
Bosch is planning to set up a second hangar at Jaipur plant, the Rs 300-crore facility manufacturing VE pumps, starters and generators, for designing a completely a new product line at an investment of Rs 40 crore.
To increase the sale of non-automotive spares, he said the company would focus on continuous innovation of its products portfolio in power tools, pharma segment for the packaging business and security system.
Bosch, which had a total turnover of Rs 5,709 crore in 2007 in India from its different segments, had lined up total investments of Rs 2,650 crore between 2005 and 2010 for its expansion programme, Chakravarti said.
