The company today said that the move is in an attempt to establish itself as one of the largest food and dariy companies in the country and also to take its products closer to the consumers, and would be working through both company-owned and franchise-led outlets. The company is in the process of developing several new products for these categories which will be rolled out in a phased manner, it said.
"To begin with, we have plans of opening 50 more outlets spread across Tamil Nadu by the end of this calendar year 2014 and then expand to other markets in a phased manner. The expansion will not only see company-owned but franchise-led outlets as we have reaped the benefits of franchising by launching our first outlet through a franchise partnership," said C K Ranganathan, chairman and managing director, CavinKare Pvt Ltd.
The outlet is launched in Chennai through a franchise-led model, said the company. It is also planning to expand Cavin's Parlours into different regions of Tamil Nadu such as Chennai, Kanchipuram, Salem, Madurai and Trichy by December 2014 and will be focusing on the successful franchise module, while there will also be a few company-owned outlets launched in strategic locations across various regions.
CavinKare, a company which has brands in personal care, foods, dairy and beverage, has a turnover of over 1200 crore, and has brand portfolio including of Shampoos (Chik, Meera, and Nyle), Hair Wash Powders (Meera & Karthika), Coconut Oil (Meera), Fairness creams (Fairever), Deodorant and Talc (Spinz), Pickles & Snacks (Ruchi, Chinni's & Garden), Hair Colours (Indica & Raaga Professional), Beverages (Maa), Dairy (Cavin's), and Beauty Salons (Green Trends & Limelite).
