“Of the total 172 FSAs for 80,000 Mw capacity, they (CIL) have been asked to sign 150 FSAs by coming September 16 for a capacity of 78,000 Mw,” the minister said here.
The CIL board in month of August this year had approved signing of FSAs for a capacity of 78,000 MW. This capacity is to be signed for as many as 150 power plants which are either commissioned or to be commissioned by 2015.
A large number of power projects are also awaiting coal in state like Madhya Pradesh.
The inter-ministerial panel on coal linkage, according to a source in a public sector power company, is going to meet tomorrow.
“As many as 27 power companies have yet to sign FSAs with the Coal India Limited on various reasons like non achievement of milestones,” the source added.
