Coffee Board hits the runway for promotions

In a unique way to promote the culture of coffee drinking, the Coffee Board is partnering the Tourism Department of Karnataka and the Bengaluru International Airport to expand the base of coffee dri-nkers by jointly launching a 10-day coffee festival — Kaapi Trail, at the airport. The 10 day-long event will exhibit the different facets of South Indian Coffee, giving passengers an opportunity to explore coffee in a unique manner.

This festival will help to contribute to the development of coffee, increasing its potential for promoting and developing tourism in its territory. As airports in India evove, the Bengaluru International Airport through this festival will offer a unique South Indian experience to every traveller. As the Gateway to South India, the Bengaluru Airport aims to create memories of South India in a new and refreshing way that has a lasting impression. “We are delighted that the Bengaluru International Airport is providing an opportunity and a platform to explore coffee in a distinctive way. This 10-day Coffee Festival will provide a great venue for coffee experts to meet a broad cross-section of interested and interesting coffee consumers. The festival will help to enhance and promote knowledge of the region and the coffee drinking habit of the state that is core to its heritage. We are delighted that the Bengaluru International Airport and its associate partners have collaborated to represent the state and coffee in a refreshing way,” said Jawaid Akhtar, Chairman, Coffee Board.

The Coffee Fest will serve the specialty coffees from nine regions which include those from the Araku Valley, Bababudangiri , B R Hills, Chikmagalur, Kodagu, Nilgiris, Sheveroy Hills, Travancore and, Nelliyampathy and Pulneys. To make this happen, the coffees, which have been specially brought in from the regions, have been carefully blended and brewed to extract their best flavour.

Special add on will be used to create a different coffee experience. If it looks like coffee, smells like coffee, goes well with coffee or is coffee you will find it at the event. The event, will give passengers an opportunity to interact with coffee experts, engage in live coffee-making demonstrations and cupping.
