Crompton Greaves, BHEL & Moser Baer Q4 results

Electrical equipment manufacturer, Crompton Greaves, on Friday announced a consolidated net profit of Rs 143.17 crore for the fourth-quarter ended March 31.

The total income for the latest quarter stood at Rs 2,029.48 crore. For the year ended March 31, the company announced a consolidated net profit of Rs 406.72 crore, against a net profit of Rs 281.74 crore in the year-ago period, Crompton Greaves said.

The total income rose to Rs 6,900.04 crore, from Rs 5,744.7 crore in the year-ago period. The figures of the current year include the results of the subsidiaries acquired by the company during the year. Hence, the figures are not comparable.

BHEL's Q4 net falls 3.43% to Rs 1,110 cr

State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals on Friday announced standalone net profit of Rs 1,110.87 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2008, a 3.43 per cent decline over the corresponding period a year ago.

The company had a standalone net profit of Rs 1,150.37 crore in the fourth quarter last financial year, BHEL said. The standalone total income increased to Rs 7,626.20 crore in the latest quarter from Rs 7205.70 crore in the same period last year.

The standalone net profit of the public sector firm rose to Rs 2,859.34 crore for the year ended March 31, from Rs 2,414.70 crore last year.

Moser Baer FY08 net loss at Rs 79 cr

Optical storage device manufacturer Moser Baer has announced a net loss of Rs 78.90 crore for the year ended March 31, 2008, as compared to net profit of Rs 109.78 crore in the previous year.

Total income has decreased to Rs 2,001.72 crore for the financial year ended March 31 from Rs 2,061.24 crore last year, Moser Baer said.

Further, a subsidiary of the company, Moser Baer Solar PLC, has plans to raise up to $150 million and the board of directors of Moser Baer have given their consent for the same, the company added. It has declared dividend of Re 1 on equity shares of Rs 10 each (10 per cent) for the financial year 2007-08.
