Eicher Motors today said that its commercial vehicle sales in November fell 71 per cent from a year ago to 661 units. November sales were 52 per cent lower lower, com pared to the previous month’s sales at 1,367 units. Eicher exported 123 commercial vehicles in November, up 64 per cent from a year ago, the company said in a statement.
The company’s domestic sales in November fell 75 per cent on year to 538 vehicles.Commercial vehicle sales have been declining due to the overall slowdown in the economy, which has forced many companies to cut production.
Domestic sales of India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer Tata Motors fell 40 per cent on year in November to 16,229 units. On Friday, Eicher Motors shares ended at Rs 206.05 on the National Stock Exchange, down 2 per cent from the previous close.
