Emco had a net profit of Rs 9 crore in the first quarter of FY'08, Emco said in a filing to the BSE.
The total sales rose to Rs 183.35 crore in the latest quarter from Rs 154.32 crore in the same period a year-ago.
"The company is geared to make better utilisation of its increased manufacturing capacities and available resources to achieve current year's growth target," Emco Chairman and MD Rajesh Jain said.
During the quarter the company formed a JV with Edison Group through its Singapore subsidiary Emco Overseas Pte Ltd.
