Essel Group's packaging firm Essel Propack today reported 43.49 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 13.46 crore for the quarter ended September 30.
Its net profit for the same quarter last year was Rs 9.38 crore.
The company's revenue rose by 19.8 per cent for the three month period under review at Rs 368.68 crore, Essel Propack said in a statement.
"The results for the current quarter reflect performance only of its global packaging business, with the non-core medical devices business having been divested in December 2009 by its overseas subsidiaries," the statement said.
Essel Propack makes laminated tubes, plastic tubes and flexible packaging such as sachets and packets used for fast moving consumer goods and medicines.
The company's scrip closed at Rs 54.75 per share on the Bombay Stock Exchange, down by 1.53 per cent from the previous close.
