Fire in Tata Motors Pune plant

| Preliminary assessments indicate that production from the paint shop may get impaired for about a week, said a media release issued by the company. However, the company spokesperson said that it has an inventory for a week to mitigate the risk of cut in production. |
| "It will take more than a week to bring the facility back to normalcy. Till then the company will do its best in minimising the losses," said a company's spokesperson. |
| Tata Motors sold 13,090 car in August, which was produced from the Pune plant, the only facility to manufacture passengers cars from the Tata stable. |
| The company has got additional two paint shops at its commercial vehicle facility adjacent to the passenger car facility. One among these paint shops can also undertake paint job of cars. |
| "We will try to accommodate maximum cars in the facility, till the original paint shop turns normal," he said. |
| The company has stated that there has been no casualty. The cause of the fire and the extent of damage are yet to be ascertained. The facility is adequately insured for fire, including for loss of operations resulting thereof, the release has stated. |
