Basab Pradhan, who quit Infosys Technologies last month, has joined a US based cloud computing start-up CliQr as president and CEO.

“I am very excited about the opportunity to lead a company that is at the cusp of something really big and important in enterprise technology,” Pradhan wrote in a bloh post on Wednesday.

Headquartered in Sunnyvale, California and with a branch office in Bangalore, CliQr Technologies has been funded by Foundation Capital and Google Ventures. Gaurav Manglik, a co-founder of the company who was earlier holding the CEO and president’s positions has now assumed the role of chief strategy officer, with the joining of Pradhan.

“This was my second stint at Infosys where I spent, in all, 13 terrific years helping to build a global IT services company. During my second stint, we spent a lot of time thinking about the impact of the cloud on our clients’ businesses. Our conclusions were that the impact of the cloud on enterprise IT would be disruptive, transformative and massive,” Pradhan added in the blog post.

Prdahan had joined Infosys in July, 2002 when Phaneesh Murthy, the then director and global sales & marketing has to leave the company after being sued for sexual harassment by a former employee. After quitting the company in 2005, he founded financial research firm Gridstone Research. However, the company eventually got shut down in April 2010 post the global economic crisis.

While announcing his decision to end his second stint at Infosys, Pradhan had said that he would go back to the startup world.
