Indian healthcare group Fortis is investing 70 million Singaporean dollars (about Rs 274 crore) in two colorectal centres in Singapore this year, a report said today.
Fortis Healthcare Singapore had opened a outpatient clinic for colorectal diseases, Novena Colorectal Centre, and a 31-bed Fortis Hospital for Colorectal Diseases in June this year, the 'Straits Times' reported.
Fortis has started hiring nurses and allied health professionals for 80 positions at the clinic and hospital.
The hospital would serve 40 patients a day while the clinic would be a group practice by four colorectal specialists who also have deeper expertise in areas such as robotic surgery to genetic testing.
Singapore is Fortis' major investment centre.
Last Wednesday, Fortis acquired a majority stake in Singapore-based diagnostic firm, Radlink Asia for 62.9 million Singaporean dollars.
