Germany-based Zarges GmbH & Company is contemplating setting up a manufacturing plant in joint venture with a local partner near Hyderabad at an initial investment of Euro 5-8 million.

Zarges managing director Dieter-Reis said the establishment of a manufacturing facility would be considered if the demand potential for their products was found to be sufficient. "A final decision would be taken in the next 3-4 months," he told the media today.

The company proposes to set up the joint venture plant with its Hyderabad-based Indian partner, Jayakrishna Aluminium Limited, which already runs an aluminium extrusion plant at Narsapur near here.

The new plant would also come up at the same place once the company decides, Dieter-Reis said, adding that the investment in the project might be increased up to Euro 20 million.

He said aviation, infrastructure and construction activities have been generating huge demand for their aluminium products in the country. The company has launched it products ranging from mechanical ladders, industrial equipment and boxes used by hospitals, banks and logistic operators.
