Healthcare industry forms 'Nathealth'

Modelled on the lines of industry body Nasscom, the private sector healthcare service providers, medical technologists and health insurance companies have joined hands to launch Nathealth (Healthcare Federation in India).

The federation has 46 member companies that include Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd, Fortis Healthcare, Manipal Health Enterprises and Max India Ltd. Headquartered in Delhi, it aims to play a pivotal role in empowering Indian healthcare and address quality healthcare.

"Nathealth would act as a catalyst to bridge the skill gap, encourage development and optimise healthcare infrastructure for the progress of the healthcare to the next level," said Prathap C Reddy, president, Nathealth, in a press release.

The body will also work to help shape policy and regulations besides supporting best practices and promote accreditation.
