Hero Honda eyes Himachal

Hero Honda Motors has approached the Himachal Pradesh government to set up a Rs 2,000-crore manufacturing plant in the hill state.

“Hero Honda wants to set up an automobile manufacturing plant somewhere in Himachal,” Chief Minister P K Dhumal has said.

He said despite the slowdown, the state had succeeded in attracting prestigious industrial houses to set up manufacturing facilities.

Earlier in the day the state-level single window clearance and monitoring authority granted approval for setting up of three other new industrial units in the state. These three units involve a proposed investment of Rs 120 crore.
