Miniratna public sector company Hindustan Latex (HLL) has entered the South American market by launching its contraceptive pill in Peru. The contraceptives major has named its non-steroidal, once-a-week, oral contraceptive pill as Ivyfemme for the South American region.
The pill is currently marketed in India under the brand Saheli.
The product has been developed at its Central Drug Research Institute - Lucknow, said a senior company official.
The company also plans to take the product to other countries in the region in a few months. Besides, it will introduce its other contraceptive range of products in the South American region.
