Hindustan Motors launches Mitsubishi's Outlander

Indian automobile major Hindustan Motors (HM) today launched its sports utility vehicle (SUV) 'Outlander' in the country. The vehicle has been priced at Rs 20.2 lakh (ex-showroom).

After testing the markets in North America, Japan, Australia, Canada and West Europe the Outlander today entered Indian auto market. "We have launched the Outlander in India in keeping with the policy of offering the latest from the Mitsubishi stable to the Indian customers," Hindustan Motors Chairman C K Birla said.

The SUV would be available in the country with a 2.4 litre petrol engine. The vehicle would be assembled at Hindustan Motors' facility at Tiruvallur near Chennai, according to HM sources.
