Car maker Honda Siel Cars India today reported the highest ever sales for August at 6,907 units, registering a jump of 25.17% over the same period last year.
The company had sold 5,518 units in the corresponding month last year, Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) said in a statement.
The sales during August was the highest ever for the month, it added.
"This remarkable growth in sales is fuelled by the sales of Honda City. The company sold 5,819 units of the Honda City in August, 2011, registering 35 per cent growth from the 4,251 units sold in August 2010," the company said.
The August sales comprised 600 units of hatchback Jazz, 330 units of premium sedan Civic, 132 units of luxury sedan Accord and 26 units of its sports utility vehicle CR-V.
