Alstom India, a subsidiary of French firm Alstom, is in talks with state-run Bhel and Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) to join in as a third partner in their proposed joint-venture.

"We are in discussion with both the companies (Bhel and NPCIL)," Alstom Project Country President Sunand Sharma told PTI on the side lines of the India Economic Summit.

He, however, decline to comment whether Alstom would be an equal partner in the joint venture.

Public sector majors BHEL and NPCIL signed an agreement in April 2008 to form a joint venture for providing engineering, procurement and construction services in nuclear power sector.
