India Steel Works suffers heavy damages

India Steel Works Ltd plant at Khopli in Raigad district of Maharashtra suffered heavy damages due to torrential rain in the area as its underground equipment got completely submerged in the water and shed of the factory fell, steel making equipment suffered major damages.

The plant is adequately insured against natural calamities, however production will suffer and initial estimate indicates, rolling mills could be commissioned shortly but it will take at least two to three months before steel making facility to become fully operational, says press release issued by the company.
