Infosys applies for 18 patent applications in Q2

Domestic IT major Infosys Technologies today said it has applied for 18 patent applications for its different products and services in India and the US during the second quarter, ended September 30, 2010.

During the second quarter, Infosys applied for 18 patent applications in India and the US. With this, the company has an aggregate of 256 patent applications (pending) in India and the US and has been granted 15 patents by the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Infosys said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The company reported a growth of 13.15 per cent in its consolidated net profit at Rs 1,737 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2010, over the same period last year.

As per the International Financial Reporting Standards, the company had a net profit of Rs 1,535 crore in the September quarter of the previous fiscal (2009-10).
