In yet another exit from Infosys, the company's Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Paul Gottsegen has resigned and joined competitor Mindtree.

Gottsegen has moved to Mindtree as its senior vice-president, chief marketing & strategy officer and management council member, the mid-sized information technology (IT) firm said in a release today.

Gottsegen had been working with Infosys from 2010, and was responsible for marketing, including corporate branding, online, services and product marketing at the country's second largest IT firm.

Infosys, which has been attempting a turnaround after the return of its co-founder N R Narayana Murthy as the executive chairman, has seen a slew of senior and mid-level exits in the last three months. Among others, the company's global head (sales & marketing) Basab Pradhan quit in July which was followed by Ashok Vemuri, head of operations (Americas) and global head (manufacturing and engineering services) in August. Vemuri joined Nasdaq-listed iGate as its president and CEO last month.

On the other hand, Mindtree, which has been attempting to shed its 'mid-size' tag and enter the big league, expects to benefit form Gottsegen's appointment.

“Paul’s appointment comes at an exciting time as marketing will play a key role in our next stage of growth,” Krishnakumar Natarajan, co-founder, CEO and MD of Mindtree said. “As we gain more clients, we will continue to build an organisation that scales well, and is in a great position to deliver larger and more sophisticated solutions. Paul is a key addition to the senior leadership team to keep our offerings on the leading edge and differentiate Mindtree solutions in the markets where we are focused,” he added.
