Interarch Building Products Private, the largest player in pre-engineered steel buildings space, plans to set up its greenfield manufacturing facility in Gujarat.
The company hopes to put up the new plant by 2009-10. The plant will cater to the needs of western India. Interarch is also mulling to come out with the initial public offer (IPO) within a period of three years.
Currently, the company has three manufacturing facilities at Chennai, Uttarakhand and Greater Noida with cumulative production capacity of 120,000 tonnes per annum. Interarch is adding another two facilities one each at Uttarakhand and Chennai. Post expansion, the production capacity of the company would increase to 200,000.
With the existing and proposed manufacturing facilities, the company has established a strong presence in North and Southern and eastern parts of the country.
"The next stage is to set up a manufacturing to cater to the needs of western India and Gujarat is the state where we would like to put up a new facility," said Arvind Nanda, CEO of Interarch, which is a leading manufacturer of metal building systems with 45 per cent market share.
The company is already infusing Rs 50 crore for its two new units at Chennai and Uttarakhand. The Gujarat unit will mainly focus on western India but we would like to strengthen our marketing network in Gujarat before commissioning our facility.
Gujarat is a key state for the company as five out the 10 big projects being executed by the company are in Gujarat, said Gautam Suri, a promoter of the company.
