Intervein gets CAP accreditation

Ahmedabad-based Intervein Laboratories Pvt Ltd, has been awarded an accreditation by the Commission on Laboratory Accreditation of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) based on the results of a recent on-site inspection. The laboratory's director was advised of this national recognition and congratulated for the 'excellence of the services being provided'.

During the CAP inspection process, inspectors examine the laboratory's records and quality control of procedures for the preceding two years. CAP inspectors also examine the entire staff's qualifications, the laboratory's equipment, facilities, safety program and record as well as overall management of the laboratory. This stringent inspection programme is designed to specifically ensure the highest standard of care for the laboratory’s patients.

"Apart from laboratory services, we also provide clinical trial services like data management, project management, site trainings and site support, logistics and archiving of samples and data", said Devina Bhardwaj, CEO of Intervein.

Intervein Laboratories is one of its kind in the country. It is an independent Central Laboratory catering services to only specimens from clinical trials. The lab does not analyse retail samples or samples from clinics. At Intervein, each clinical trial is handled in a customised way by a dedicated GCP/GLP trained team.

A pioneer in offering customised services including logistics, kit management, data management, archiving and other specific requirements for clinical trials, Intervein plans to extend its services into molecular diagnostics and imaging facilities, thus making it a core lab for clinical trials.
