Headset manufacturer GN Netcom, which markets its products under the brand Jabra, today entered into a marketing and distribution agreement with Redington India for expanding its presence in the country.

Under the agreement, Redington will market and distribute the Jabra brand of headset products and bluetooth technologies to customers, GN Netcom's Vice President and General Manager Dinesh Malkani told reporters here.

The Denmark-based GN Netcom also launched a new series -- GO 6400-- headsets in the Indian market. The product has been priced at Rs 5,000. To further strengthen its presence in India, the Danish company will open two offices -- at Chennai and Delhi --in the country, Malkani said.

Jabra markets a broad range of hands-free solutions for mobile phones, contact centers and offices.

The Danish Ambassador to India, Ole Lonsmann Poulsen, who launched the product today, said, "Jabra's presence here and the optimism about the Indian market is good for Indo-Danish business relationship."

"...It will encourage more and more Danish brands looking to expand their global footprint to do the same," he added.

GN Netcom is optimistic about Indian market projecting 50 per cent growth. Last year, the company registered a 30 per cent growth in India, even as overall industry declined.

"Through our excellent geographic reach and on-ground resources, we hope to realise maximum growth potential in the Indian market for Jabra's offering," Redington MD and Chief Executive Srinivasan said.

Redington India is a leading supply chain provider in the country and has over 16,000 channel partners.
