JSW Steel Ltd, a part of the O P Jindal Group company and the one of the lowest cost steel producers in the world, has reported 33 per cent rise in crude steel production at 4.59 lakh tonnes in May 2009 as compared to 3.46 lakh tonnes in the corresponding month of the previous year.
Total output of flat rolled products witnessed growth of 20 per cent at 3.07 lakh tonnes from Rs 2.55 lakh tonnes while the long rolled product output was reported at 0.65 lakh tonnes in May this year, a rise of 106 per cent from 0.32 lakh tonnes in the same month last year.
The company has shown an all round growth in all products and also registered highest monthly production of crude steel, HR plates and colour coated products, the company release said.
